Starting on January 13, Tech club will be held every Tuesday for 8 weeks in order to learn participate in CS First- an 8 week coding activity. Students will only be required to come on the regularly scheduled days listed on the calendar, but are encouraged to come every week. Then, we will go back to the every other Tuesday schedule.  

Tech Club Info:

The Technology Club will be twice a month on Tuesday mornings from 7:10-8:10. The club will meet in the computer lab.  

The Sunrise Technology Club will mostly focus on filming, coding, and GPS. The students will be highly encouraged to participate in the Canyons District Film Festival, and will help teachers throughout the school create weekly podcasts.  

Students are required to follow all school procedures and expectations. They will be asked to leave the Tech Club if they:
  • Have 10 school tardies
  • Have 10 school absences
  • Receive 2 ODRs in a grading period
  • Have 10 missing assignments
  • Have 2 Tech Club Absences

Chandra Martz- Tech Club Advisor

I am very excited to be starting a Technology Club at Sunrise Elementary.  This is my 7th year working for Canyons School District.  The first 4 years, I taught 5th grade at Willow Springs Elementary.  I am now starting my 3rd year as an Educational Technology Specialist at 3 schools: Sunrise, Peruvian Park, and Edgemont.  Sunrise is a great place to work because the students are friendly, outgoing, and very talented. I look forward to being the advisor of Tech Club this year.
